Why Is My Google Meet Recording Feature Unavailable?

Here are some possible factors that can lead to your Google Meet’s recording button not showing up.

1. Make sure you run Google Meet as admin - only the organizer has permission to turn on the recording feature for joiners to use.
2. Check if you using Google Meet on the same device - the recording feature is only available on PC. 
3. Make sure the meeting you join is a video meeting. If you only present or participate in an ordinary meeting, the video recording feature won’t be on. 
4. Check the activity of the meeting organizer’s account, and make sure it is not disabled.
5. Make sure your account contains the recording feature. Currently these licenses gain access to Google Meet’s recording feature:

• Essentials
• Business Standard
• Business Plus
• Enterprise Essentials
• Enterprise Standard
• Enterprise Plus
