The Easiest Way to Record Your PC Screen

Where Is My Screen Recording Saved Windows 11? The Default Path?

After the W + Alt + R, I can see a screen recording is on. But later I cannot find the recorded document, please tell me where can I find my clips on my Windows 11 system.

Where Is My Screen Recording Saved Windows 11

We’ve got more than one choice on Windows 11 to capture our screen. We can leverage our old friend - Xbox Game Bar or our new friend ‘The Snipping Tool’ to capture anything on the desktop. But after you use the shortcut to make a quick clip, where is your screen recording stored?

Normally, without intentional settings from users, your default recorded documents will be saved at this path: This PC\Local Disk (C:)\User\Admin\Videos\Captures

One thing worth noticing is that the more you record, the more burden your C disk will have. And stagnation is definitely the last thing we want to see. To solve this problem, we can change the default storage path by following these steps:

For Xbox Game Bar users: How to Change Save Location?

Step 1. Use W + Alt + R to call out Xbox Game Bar.

Step 2. From the floating bar, find the option “Show all captures.”

Step 3. From the left side window which just pops out, hit out the option “change the location where recordings are saved”

Step 4. Now you can redefine the storage path.

For The Snipping Tool users: How to Change Save Location?

Step 1. Click on the three dots and select ‘Settings’

Step 2. Now you can see the ‘Save snips’ option, click on the Change button next to Save To.

Step 3. Now you can choose a new folder to save your recordings.

Both Xbox Game Bar and Snipping Tool have limitations to record screen in Windows 11. To unblock more power, iTop Screen Recorder will not let you down.
